Álvaro Rey, a bad start at Deportivo

Deportivo closed 2021 full of happiness. Leader, winter champion and with very clear ideas in the market. The good summer planning paid off and the secretariat set two goals: two starts on the saturated right-hand side (Valín and Benito) and a signing for the far right. The chosen one was Álvaro Reya footballer who knew Borja Jiménez perfectly after having him under his command at Mirandés. The signing of the Sevillian32 years old, it was closed immediately and the footballer began training in Abegondo on January 5.

The arrival of Álvaro Rey raised expectations and optimism, but the Andalusian is not having any luck in these first two months as blue and white. He debuted on January 23 against Dux in the 61st minute match and had a presence against Real Unión and SD Logroñés, leaving some interesting details. His debut as a starter was against Racing de Santanderthe most important match of this 2022. He played the 90 minutes and, like several of his teammates, he did not have his day. He returned to the bench against Sanse and repeated this Saturday against Racing de Ferrol, where again it didn’t work. Practically without overflow or depth the danger from his side, as happened against Santander, was led by Trilli.

Pending medical tests

The discreet contribution on the field is not the only problem of an Álvaro Rey who had the misfortune of getting injured in the derby against Racing. The Sevillian attacker asked for the substitution in minute 61 when he felt a puncture and the first exploration of the medical body speaks of “discomfort in the hamstrings”. Further tests are planned earlier this week to rule on the exact extent of his injury. The sensations are not good and if there is a muscle injury it will be difficult for him to return before a month.
